Information on Cancelling your Housing Contract

PRIOR TO LEASE/AGREEMENT START DATE: There is no financial penalty to cancel your housing contract as long as the request is submitted, in writing, to the Housing Operations Office (106 Red Jacket) before May 1. After May 1 there is a $300 cancellation charge to cancel. After July 1, the charge increases to $450 and you may incur additional rent charges.
DURING THE LEASE/AGREEMENT PERIOD: : In rare circumstances, students may break their current housing contract. Students graduating, studying abroad, or participating in an out-of-town internship for the spring semester need to apply for an early release from thier contract by November 1. These requests are not guaranteed, but academic reasons are given full consideration. You must contact your complex or hall director as soon as possible to discuss your options. Depending on the date your submit your request, there may be additional Lease/Termination fees. Please view the "Application for Early Release" (located on the forms page) for more details.
