Current Residents in Residence Halls

Students graduating, studying abroad, or participating in an out-of-town internship need to apply for an apartment lease/agreement break or Residence Hall contract break by November 1. These requests are not guaranteed, but academic reasons are given full consideration. You must contact your complex or hall director as soon as possible to discuss your options.

Upcoming Contract

If you change your mind about living in the residence halls for the upcoming fall, you have until May 1 to cancel your residence hall contract. If you cancel by May 1, you will receive your $200 deposit back. Processing takes several weeks. You can cancel after May 1 however you will not receive your deposit.

Termination of Lease/Agreement in the Apartments

PRIOR TO LEASE/AGREEMENT START DATE: There is no financial penalty to cancel your lease/agreement so long as the student requests cancellation, in writing, 45 days prior to the lease start date.

DURING THE LEASE/AGREEMENT PERIOD: If residents of Flickinger Court and/or Hadley Village wish to terminate their lease, they should refer to the “Default” section of their lease. If South Lake, Flint, and Creekside Village residents wish to terminate their agreement they should refer to the “Cancellation/Early Release” section of their agreement. There is a $300 lease/agreement termination fee, and this fee could increase depending on the timeliness of the termination request.

We encourage all residents to contact their Complex Director for termination guidelines. University Apartments does not guarantee lease/agreement termination.
